BRAIN BASED STRATEGIES

This is one of the best strategy that can be used to gain students attention in the class. In this strategy students long term memory and recalling power is strengthened and also help in sharpening of mind. It is similar to brainstorming wherein teacher gives activity to the students and students have to come up with their own imagination. Thus the brain processes wholes and parts simultaneouly and learning involves both focussed attention and peripheral perception.

Few of the strategies I, had used in school are as follows:

Number Drawing

This activity was conducted for the students of class V.

Teacher writes some numbers on chalkboard with sufficient space between each number. Then teacher randomly calls students on chalkboard and asks them to draw any picture within the number in such way that number should not be distinguished in the picture.

5-4-3-2-1

This activity was conducted for the students of class VI.

This is one of the great activities which can be used at the start or in between the lesson. This physical activity specially can be used in last two lectures in the afternoon where in students get bored and feels lazy.In this activity teacher shows 5 different steps for each number. Then teacher calls out number from 1 to 5 and students have to stand in that particular pose.Then teacher calls out any number in random and all the students have to do those steps which are mentioned for that number.
